For a number of years, our prior research at Virginia Tech has focused on promoting what we call “conscientious discourse” in the classroom.  In particular, we have developed a technology-supported pedagogy to encourage students to engage in discourse that challenges them to consider their own presuppositions in relationship to the thoughts of their classmates when addressing complex and possibly contentious topics.

We are interested in further connection with others who have thoughts about how to promote conscientious discourse, or in our developing technology. If you might be interested in engagement with this project, please give us your name and contact information at the end of the survey.
